Marianne Morild

Marianne Morild has a Masters in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art in London. In her paintings Morild focuses on how we relate to nature, as stewards of our environment, how we intervene and change things, and how we are implementing an aesthetic appreciation of nature. The motifs are landscapes traditionally perceived as scenic or landscape that has been processed. Many of the images are based on the relationship between landscape and resource extraction. She explores how we are affiliated to sites and nature through our tradition and history, our industry and aesthetics. Morild lives and works in Bergen and has participated in numerous exhibitions in Norway and the UK.
